Backpack Farm (BPF) provides smallholder farmers in Kenya and the East African Community (EAC) with the opportunity to increase their yields by up to 219%. Packages of green farming inputs, comprehensive training, and access to equitable finance are available for an average starting price of $200 - $500 USD per 1/2acre of production. With more than 27 million smallholder farmers in Kenya and over 100 million in East and sub-Saharan Africa, these farmers rely on horticulture as their primary source of income. BPF offers more than 40 conservation farm training classes at their franchise training and distribution centers, providing these farmers with the tools they need to qualify for commercial credit and increase their potential income while protecting the local ecology.
