UNEP International Resource Panel - Nairobi, Kenya

The International Resource Panel (IRP) was established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) in 2007 with the aim of gathering and disseminating the knowledge needed to improve the global use of resources. The IRP comprises of renowned scientists knowledgeable in resource management. Through their reports, they synthesise the most recent scientific, technical and socio-economic findings on global resource use, and provide advice and links between government, industry and the public about how to better manage resources both globally and locally. The IRP is composed of scientists, governments, civil society, industrial and international organisations, both from developed and developing countries. The Panel’s objective is to lead us away from overconsumption, waste and ecological damage towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.
