Crisis Pregnancy Ministries Kenya was founded in 1988 by Barbara Hammond Porter, under the umbrella of Youth for Christ International Africa Area, to address the growing need for information on abortion and alternatives available to young people and families faced with a crisis pregnancy. The original counselling centre began in Westlands, off Waiyaki Way near St. Marks Church and Westlands Primary. The centre is still there plus other locations where counselling is available -- Riruta/Satellite in Nairobi, as well as Nakuru, Eldoret and Meru.
