The Plate Childrens Home is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) located atTom Mboya Avenue,Tudor,Near the Mombasa Polytechnic University College, Mombasa City which is also registered by the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Development as a children’s institution.
The Plate was founded in 1993 as a response to an ever-increasing problem of street children in Mombasa and the Coast region. We started as a home in Likoni for young street girls catering for only 6 street girls in a rented three bed roomed house. We afterwards re-located to Mombasa CBD in 1997.
