DEMO Africa 2020 - Nairobi, Kenya

The U.S. Department of State, Microsoft, DEMO, USAID, and Startup Weekend have come together to form the Liberalizing Innovation Opportunity Nations Partnership, a public-private alliance that seeks to strengthen and expand the startup and innovation ecosystems of rapidly-growing African countries. Through this partnership, African startups have been given a platform to showcase their products to Africa and the world. Since its inception in March 2012, DEMO Africa has had remarkable success, raising over US$ 8 million in just a year. The initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and showcases the potential of African startups to develop solutions and gain investment on the global stage.
