1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Costa Luis & Co was originally registered in Kenya in January 1991 from which date it commenced practice as certified public accountants. Subsequently (with the introduction of the Certified Public Secretaries Act), it became mandatory for companies to appoint professionally qualified company secretaries. The firm then expanded its scope of practice to include those of a company secretary in September 1992. We are a medium sized firm, currently managed by the proprietor Mr. O. M. da Costa-Luis, supported by a team of qualified and well-trained Kenyan staff.

- Auditing services include related accounting services, statutory audit, internal audit and special assignments.

- Management consultancy services include operational, administrative and financial consultancy, assistance in obtaining loans, project feasibility studies and related financial reports. We also provide professional advice to potential local and foreign investors and donors both within and outside Kenya. Assistance includes setting up a business, compliance with all legal and statutory requirements, liaison with Government authorities, registration of trademarks, and providing general business information and continuing support by updating our clients on the latest policies of the Kenyan Government.

We also accept receiverships, and are looking to increase our exposure in this area of operations.

- Company secretarial services include company formation, dissolution, liquidation and compliance with all the legal requirements under the Kenyan Companies’ Act.
