Question for Gonas Best Ltd

I used a pure glucose circuit which had an expiry date of 2010 june and developed complications. unfortunately all the circuits i have seen on the ugandan market are expired but the date was just covered with a black marker, was this done at the factory in kenya or its an act by ugandan merchants who want to sell old and expired stock of the product.
