THE DAWN OF KENYAN INDEPENDENCE AND EDUCATION
Karamaini Primary School was opened in 1962 in a flower/coffee plantation farm by the name Bobs Harries Limited.
It served the children of the farm employees and all the neighboring villages like Kiahuria, Machure, Kirathe, Everflora(Vamuma) etc.
In 2006, the school moved its operations from the original site in Bobs Harries and relocated to Kiahuria. This was after Kariki Limited purchased land from Harries and started a flower farm. The chemicals used were the main issue as it affected the pupils so they had to be relocated.
In terms of academic performance, I list myself and Michael Mwangi (both from the Estate) at the top of the ladder having managed to obtain 364Marks in 2007 with Mike managing a 377 in the previous years.
As i write this, Mike is a practicing civil engineer and I an analytical chemist, having pursued our degree courses from UoN and JKUAT respectively.
